The e-NRG fuel packaging, operational procedure, accessories and formula has undergone rigorous third party testing with all EcoSmart Fire ethanol fireplaces. We have not worked with or tested other bioethanol fuel brands in conjunction with our burners and cannot speak to their performance or safety. Other bioethanol fuel brands can also leave residue or unsightly staining. Use of any other ethanol fuel may damage your unit and void your warranty. Why is it sustainable?
During combustion, the emissions from bioethanol produce heat, steam and a small amount of carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is then absorbed by plants and processed by photosynthesis to help the plant grow. This process makes bioethanol a carbon-neutral fuel source.
How is bioethanol made?
Bioethanol, or simply ethanol, is a renewable energy source made by fermenting sugars and starch components of plant by-products (mainly sugarcane and crops like grain) using yeast. It is also made from corn, potatoes, milk, rice, beetroot and, more recently, grapes.
What is the shelf life of e-NRG Fuel?
The shelf life is 3 years if kept in a tightly sealed container and in a cool, dry area (approx 20°C).
Do bioethanol fireplaces leave condensation during the burn process?
The moisture or water vapour created in the burning of the fuel is minimal and thus only adds to the air and not condensate on hard surfaces such as walls or glass/windows.
I spilled some e-NRG. What is the safest way to clean it up?
Bioethanol can be wiped up with either a paper or cloth towel. Paper towels can be disposed of in regular trash bins. Though not toxic, it is recommended that you wash hands immediately after coming into contact with e-NRG.
